Carmen Piqueras was born in Murcia (Spain). She started studying ballet with Jose Antonio Robles at his hometown. At the age of 18 she got the Seneca Foundation Scholarship to perfection her ballet education with the great ballet teacher Carmina Ocania. Since 1999 she has danced in several companies Victor Ullate’s Ballet, European Ballet, Zürich Ballet, English National Ballet with a repertoire from S. Tchassov, V. Ullate, H. Spoerli, L. Hwai-Min, K. MacMillan, C. Hampson, M. Skeaping, R. Nureyev, D. Deane.
Since 2006 Carmen works at Semperoper Ballett in Dresden where she became a soloist in 2011 and has had the opportunity not only to take part in many Classical Ballets and Neoclassical programs from J. Cranko, G. Balanchine, J. Kylián, G. Tetley, M. Ek, J. Godani, Fokine, A. Watkin after Petipa and L. Ivanov, D. Dawson, J. Neumeier but also has she gotten the opportunity to work with the best choreographers and teachers from all over the world.
In parallel to her dancing career, since 2008 Carmen has been a guest teacher in different schools and institutions around Europe. She has been a guest ballet teacher at Theater Kiel, the Ballett Nordhausen, Mainfranken Theater Würzburg, Ballett Mainz, Semperoper Ballet, Landestheater Eisenach, Ballet im Revier, Ballett Rosa, Ballett Schwerin, Theater Wiesbaden, Ballett Staatstheater Nürnberg, Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Rob- les Ballet School, Carmina Ocaña and Pablo Saboye Ballet School, Scola Dansa Marta Bustamante, Sanau Dansa & International Summer Workshop Tanzplan Muse10 at Palucca Schüle. Aside, she was a Ballet teacher and Choreographer at Ms J. Wong School of Ballet Hong Kong during the International Summer Dance School (ISDS 2014- 15-16) and Moderator and Jury for Floor on Fire - Battle of Styles (Hellerau-European Center for Arts, Dresden).
Since 2016 she has been a Ballet Master with the Semperoper Ballett, responsible for the choreographies of MacMillan, Balanchine, Forsythe, Dawson, Watkin, Celis, Ashton, Peck amongst others. She has worked with Choreographers such as William Forsythe, Justin Peck & Johan Inger and has worked with Choreographic Assistants such as Kathryn Bennetts, Merrill Ashley, Stacey Cadell, Christopher Carr, Anthony Dowell, Jeanette Delgado, Patricia Delgado, Nanette Gloushak, Urtzi Aranburu and more.
