Lucas Bierlair
Belgian dancer Lucas hails from Wallonie and spent all 6 yrs of his professional dance training at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp.
After graduating at age 17, he felt himself as yet too young and immature to dive right into a professional career. Having had experience with both Alain Honorez and Altea Nuñez while at school and appreciating their great qualities, he entered Junior Ballet Antwerp.
During this past year and a half, he has come into contact with many choreographers at JBA – his two favorite pieces in which he performed were Seasons 4.0 (created by 4 different choreographers amongst whom was Altea Nuñez with her lovely Summer section) and David Dawson’s creation for JBA, Metamorphosis.
Lucas: ”Originally I had my sights set on a purely classical career but since my experience with JBA has opened my eyes to a variety of styles – classical, neo-classical, contemporary and more…”
During the Summer-break, Lucas has been both acting and singing in the Bruxellons stage musical Elisabeth, another form of art which appeals to him.
