FLASH #9\u00a0– SEASON 23\/24: A TRUE CELEBRATION <\/h1>\n\n\n\n

All at JBA – leaders, team & dancers both new and previous, are back and refreshed after the summer break, ready to dive into what promises to be an exciting season; one of festivities, special events and surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The year 2024 will unveil a double celebration, two anniversaries with the numeral 5 as connecting thread. It ushers in the 75th anniversary of the death of one of Belgium\u2019s most famous son\u2019s – painter\/artist James Ensor<\/strong>, and – we can announce with justifiable pride, Junior Ballet Antwerp will be marking then, it\u2019s fifth year of existence!<\/p>\n<\/div>

We will start the new year by highlighting the works of James Ensor<\/strong> in a unique collaboration of art, theatrical innovation and dance. Choreography is in the hands of Mauro de Candia<\/strong>, a gifted and celebrated artist, who travelled to Antwerp late August to conduct a workshop around his innovative dance language, in line-up to the creation process in January.
The result entitled JAMES<\/strong><\/a>, will premiere in Antwerp\u2019s Opera on February 24, 2024 and then tour to different locations in Belgium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later in the year we will reveal our own festive plans for our celebratory performances of 5!<\/strong> – compilation of some of our most popular works together with the premiere of a special creation by a lauded and up and coming Chinese choreographer, Le Wang<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naturally the work doesn\u2019t stop there; we welcome back some of our wonderful coaches – Christiane Marchant, Matz Skoog, Monique Loudi\u00e8res, V\u00e9ronique Jean<\/strong> and Jesse Callaert<\/strong> will set the ball rolling in this respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the JBA pipeline are plans to reach out to motivated and talented young dancers and to the interested public. For advanced dancers, we are offering Winter & Summer DANCE DAYS<\/strong> as well as open classes (as from 23\/11\/23) which will take place on the JBA premises.
For sponsors, friends and those eager to know more about our work, there will be special \u2018tasting\u2019 events taking place in intimate studio surroundings while later on in the year we will offer our dancers the opportunity of performances to test and perhaps to uncover their own choreographic talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
