Our end-of-year’s gift to you is FURORE’s gloriously designed ‘teaser’, captured on a late October day at the ‘brug van Vroenhoven’ in Diest. Brought to the small screen by the uniquely talents of CIN & ART (the Tibaut & Julie Coppens team & co) and with choreography by Altea Nuñez, it is a masterpiece of design, dance, music and film. The fluid, geometric curves of the backdrop form a perfect setting for the sinuous lines of the single dancer; JBA artist Ella Matthews. Combined in a color palette of greys, blacks and vibrant red and backed by a deeply resonant soundscape, it conjures up a mystical, fictional landscape spirited with encouragement.

The latter design team were those responsible for the JAMES cameo teaser last season and not least, for bringing our fairytale CINDERELLA exquisitely to life in Antwerp’s Handelsbeurs. 

All of which promises to make their lighting/decor transformation of CINDERELLA in hetPaleis in May 2025 uniquely different and every bit as lovely.

We neared the end of 2024 on a shining high when on December 9 JBA hosted its annual fund-raising Gala dinner organized by Inge Heylen in the elegant setting of the Horta Art Nouveau room in Antwerp.
Lights from the many Christmas trees sparkled, shedding a lovely seasonal glow over a room filled with JBA supporters and friends. As they fine-dined they were treated to cameo performances by the dancers including a taste of what is on the JBA menu for next year. An evening filled with warmth and good cheer in preparation of 2025!

And so we close on an upbeat note after a year packed with performances, with dancers to be proud of and with the promise of many more to come.
