Rebecca Johnson

Rebecca Johnson started dancing at 2 yrs old.

Her serious vocational training began when she was 11, at Elmhurst Ballet School and then at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, from where she graduated in 2026.

Rebecca: “Having followed JBA on social media for several years, I was attracted to the high calibre of the company’s teachers and choreographers as well as the amount of performing opportunities on offer. I saw the incredible companies their alumni were joining and how highly these dancers spoke of Alain and Altea. These favorable impressions were reinforced by the welcoming and nurturing atmosphere at the audition where I felt challenged while still being encouraged and supported.”

At JBA she expects to be pushed out of her comfort zone and improve both technically and artistically. From working with new teachers and choreographers, she hopes to become more versatile as a dancer and develop a more mature sense of movement quality. 

Rebecca has no particular favorite company but does dream of dancing works by choreographers such as Kenneth MacMillan, David Dawson, William Forsythe and Akram Khan.

She particularly loves the style of Christopher Wheeldon and his ballet ‘A Winter’s Tale’, is a favourite because of the musicality and emotion of the movement.

Rebecca’s interests besides spending time with family and friends are music, pottery painting, cooking and going to the theatre.
