SILVIO NIKOLOV

Silvio hails from a small town in the Veneto region, close to Venice. Although he has Bulgarian parents, Silvio feels essentially Italian.
Being encouraged by his mother to start dancing at an early age, Silvio’s trajectory into dance has not been easy growing up in a community where football is being considered the done thing for young men. Determined to following his dream, he recognizes that dance is like a calling to him and the result of his motivation and strength of purpose led him finally to Junior Ballet Antwerp!

Before joining JBA, Silvio trained with the Accademia di Danza STEP in Padova and before with Il Balletto di Castelfranco Veneto.

Silvio: “This program offers young people the chance to grow, not only as dancers but as individuals because of the very positive and nurturing environment. This, plus the wide variety of dance styles included in the course and the chances to meet so many people – coaches, teachers and choreographers, will without doubt influence my future path in unforeseen ways.”

Silvio dreams of joining Nederlands Dans Theater, Scapino Ballet (Rotterdam), Opera de Lyon or Ballet Basel and has enormous admiration for the choreographic work by Sharon Eyal with ‘Promise’ to be the piece that remains fixed in his mind.

Aside, his passion to study, not only dance but other subjects like philosophy, reveals that he has the intelligence and strength to offer a great deal to whichever path life will lead him along.
