FLASH #28 – BACK WITH A BANG!
Here we go again – all fresh and fully-charged at the start of a brand new season!
For all JBA dancers (21! representing no less than 12 nationalities) and naturally for you, our public – this season 25/26 offers much to look forward to.
As always the JBA focus is on creative variety – it is this versatility which remains without a doubt, our hallmark, enabling our young artists to take the important steps from trainee to becoming a true professional with a valid career in dance.
BOLERO X – a collaboration with OBF
This year, JBA joins forces with Opera Ballet Flanders (OBF) for BOLERO X: the lauded choreography by Shahar Binyamini with music by Maurice Ravel, played live by the Symphonic Orchestra of OBF. BOLERO X forms together with LA VALSE (Nacera Belaza) and the iconic LE SACRE DU PRINTEMPS (Pina Bausch) part of OBF’s triple bill RITES showing in January and February 2026 with performances in Antwerp & Ghent.
DANCE BYTES #3
Running parallel to the BOLERO X and with live accompaniment by piano and violin, our dancers will be demonstrating their inventive talents in choreography of their own making.
After a successful second edition in June’25 which proved much to the taste of the public, we are delighted to program DANCE BYTES #3 early in the new year.

CINDERELLA
Our 4-star contemporary take – in ballet form – of the beloved Charles Perrault fairytale finally goes on tour throughout Flanders! Starting in March and running through April, the dates, locations and tickets are to be found here.
Advice to all – be quick to book because already the demand in ticket sales is high!

June in Antwerp sees the premiere of a triple creation by 3 of ballet’s most interesting young choreographers.
From Britain, Douglas Lee & Ihsan Rustem & from Spain/Belgium, our own Altea Nuñez.
They will highlight the fluidity, beauty and variety of the art form, seen from their own individual aspects, styles and choices of music. Not to be missed!

Of course interspersed during the year are workshops by leading coaches and teachers with the occasional open rehearsal for Friends and sponsors of JBA.
JBA FUNDRAISING @ BOTANIC SANCTUARY ANTWERP
Junior Ballet Antwerp’s much praised annual fundraising gala dinner with performances by our young talents returns on 29 October 2025 to its roots: the chapel of Hotel Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp.
This exclusive evening is a true ‘pas de deux’ – a celebration of haute cuisine crafted by Michelin-starred chef Viki Geunes, paired with fine wines from Le Wine, and the pure artistic beauty of ballet.
Price: 275€ per person (includes a four-course menu preceded by an aperitif with amuses-bouches, and concluded with coffee)
