Beatrice Carmans

Beatrice is Belgian/ Italian and was born in Hasselt (Belgium). She started dancing locally at the age of 12 with Balletto Patty Giardina and later trained at the School of the Hamburg Ballett. Before joining Junior Ballet Antwerp she danced as an apprentice with Theater Chemnitz during the 25/26 season.

Beatrice: “I chose Junior Ballet Antwerp because I feel that it is a place where I can continue to grow, both technically and artistically. The variety of the training program and the excellence of the teachers and coaches are very appealing to me. I am especially attracted to the personal environment at JBA, where detailed feedback is received and where the focus lies on guidance. I hope to gain confidence in order to learn to dance with greater freedom.”

Beatrice has dreams of one day dancing with European ballet companies such as Semperoper Ballett, Czech National Ballet or Ballett am Rhein.

She greatly admires David Dawson’s ballets because of their beautiful & inspiring dance language, and she enjoys watching the work of William Forsythe with all of its rhythmic and dynamic movement.

Four top favorite story ballets are ‘Romeo & Juliet’ & ‘Die Kameliendame’ by John Neumeier, ‘Onegin’ by John Cranko and ‘Manon’ by Kenneth MacMillan because of the deep emotions which are displayed through movement.

Aside from dance, Beatrice likes reading, traveling & learning new languages.
