Brianna Skehan

Brianna, hails from Australia where she started dancing when she was just 3.

Later she began her serious training at the Queensland National Ballet School and then came to Europe to study for a year at the La Scala Ballet Academy in Milan before transferring to the Royal Conservatoire at the Hague, Holland where she stayed for 2 yrs.

Brianna: “As my next training step, I am very excited to be joining the JBA program. Here I will work with and learn from esteemed professionals, alongside of other talented dancers.

I hope to grow as a dancer both technically and artistically in the studio while gaining stage experience and so come to understand just what this career will demand of me.”

Brianna’s dream companies include the Australian Ballet as well as major European companies like Dutch National Ballet, and Semperoper Ballett, Dresden.

On the list of works she would love to perform or choreographers she dreams of working with are: ‘Four Solitudes’ by Crystal Site, ‘Blake Works’ by William Forsythe & ‘Clowns’ by Hofesh Shechter. These are choreographers she admires and in this way she would be able to explore the boundaries between classical and contemporary ballet. 

Also Christopher Wheeldon and Jiri Kylian are greatly respected.

Outside the studio, Brianna enjoys reading, listening to music, cooking and craft hobbies such as colouring.
