Juliette Baud

Juliette hails from Strasbourg, France. At an early age she started out doing gymnastics but soon realized that ballet is what she really loved. After dancing locally, she completed three years training at the VM Ballet School in Toulouse before pursuing her professional studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. There, she also trained in a variety of styles, including neoclassical ballet, modern dance and contemporary dance.

Juliette: “It was JBA’s very varied repertoire which first attracted me as well as how they highlight and support their dancers. During the audition I felt the energy of every dancer around, and I understood that JBA was offering a very stimulating yet demanding environment. The encouraging approach and guidance was exactly what I was looking for.

I am sure that at JBA I will have the help I need to develop my personality and artistic qualities. I look forward to being challenged in supportive surroundings, feeling the energy of the team.”

Juliette dreams of joining a major European dance company such as English National Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet or the Bayerische Staatsballett. She is also attracted by the various ballet companies in America. 

Two of the world’s important choreographers: William Forsythe and David Dawson are greatly admired. Forher Conservatoire graduation exam, Juliette had the opportunity to perform a solo from David Dawson’s Anima Animus. She was very grateful to experience his movement style under the guidance of Charlotte Chapellier and Christiane Marchant.

A favorite ballet is ‘Lady of the Camelias’ by choreographer John Neumeier.

As well as her passion for dance, this young French woman enjoys playing the piano and is currently following a master’s degree in Dance and Musicology
